To begin a brief series marking the release of our latest Commerce Flagship Report (get a free copy here), today’s Chart explores online commerce across our tracked markets.

Chinese digital consumers are the most avid online shoppers, with 83% reporting purchasing a product online in the past month. This figure remains remarkably even across all age, gender and income breaks.

The opportunities for digital commerce in APAC in general are very evident, with 6 of the top 10 global markets coming from the region. In part, this is a result of the success of home-grown online merchants in revolutionizing retail, such as Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba.

Nevertheless, certain European markets also show strongly here too, with the UK, Germany and Poland featuring within our top 10 (achieving figures of 75% or more).
